And these are the very artists you know and love that you may hear on the radio, or on Pandora, or that you find looking for other music. Personally I don’t know why this is, I don’t quite understand the process, but the impact that it has on the music industry is killing artists’ reputation and salaries. Well, for the people in the world who illegally download various software and media that has been copy written, they have access to pretty much anything they can think of on the internet, because It’s very difficult for most industries to crack down on torrents. If you’re downloading the torrent you’re downloading different pieces of the file, and once you’re done downloading, you begin to “seed” back the data to other users who downloaded the torrent and it’s pretty much a stream of data that people connect in and out of. So the torrent itself contains the data of the file. It’s essentially a file sharing network that allows people to take pieces of data, pretty much any file type, and disperse them with other people connected to the specific torrent.
Torrenting is not directly related to music, but it has a huge impact on the music industry, software industry, and even movie industry. But where would we, as a civilization, be without music? What if artists were forced to leave record labels if their sales didn’t meet the quota? Well, there is actually a potential reason for many artists to lose their spot on the charts because of something called torrenting. I need to listen to music every day to keep my mind in check because there is something about listening to music that makes it so easy to overcome any emotion or enjoy my day.
